We are delighted to welcome you to our lunch webinar with Dr Minoo Irani who will be presenting on Safeguarding children and Independent Doctors - a multispecialty approach.

The scope of children’s safeguarding has expanded significantly in recent years and while specialty specific guidance and training is available, it remains essential that practitioners are up to date with good practice across specialties - in a sense a whole child approach for awareness of clinical features, policy and legal framework, rather than through a single specialty lens.

Independent doctors face unique challenge with safeguarding, even in the best regulated systems and with the inevitable change in demographics of ‘private patients’, independent doctors need opportunities for reflection in multispecialty peer groups and share practical challenges - much beyond satisfying the standard mandatory training requirement.

Learning Objectives:

  • Opportunity to reflect upon personal safeguarding practice in a multi-specialty context.
  • Avoid ‘blind spots’ in safeguarding practice, with changing populations who access private practice.
  • Reduce uncertainty and reluctance to consider safeguarding in complex clinical scenarios.
